Meet the Dragonfly Dream Team

Our team of experienced and caring educators is our greatest asset, dedicated to nurturing every child's unique journey.

Alexa - Math

Alexa is excited to be teaching Math this year! In fact, working with numbers is her favorite thing - especially if it has to do with saving money on amazing deals or maximizing travel points! She also loves to read, eat out, organize, and be cozy. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education and used to teach 1st Grade. She loves children so much that she has 5 of her own (ages 3-14)! She also has a wonderful husband that she has known since she was born!

Amanda -Writing

Amanda is in her third year teaching writing at Dragonfly. She graduated from Fresno State with a degree in Liberal Studies, with an emphasis in Children and the Arts. Passionate about sharing her knowledge and inspiring future generations, she encourages each student to strive for success in whatever form that may take for them. A creative at heart, Ms. Amanda enjoys anything that allows her imagination to flourish—and in another life, she would have "run away" with the Cirque du Soleil! She also enjoys travel and all things sweet.

Darcy - Highschool

Darcy grew up on a farm in Indiana before heading west to attend Brigham Young University. She and her husband now have four children who keep life lively. Darcy enjoys reading, camping, fashion, DIY home projects, and adding new plants—and occasionally a pet—to the family. She brings a love of learning, creativity, and adventure to everything she does.

Kristi and her husband have three children—an adult daughter and two sons who attend Dragonfly. They are also foster parents, so the number of children in their home tends to vary depending on the day! Family is a huge part of Kristi’s life and has shaped so much of who she is and the way she works with children.Kristi has always known she wanted to work with kids. She studied Early Childhood Education and, for a time, considered going into social work. She homeschooled her daughter from the very beginning and spent years running an in-home daycare and different preschool programs. Dragonfly grew out of those programs in a very natural way. As the children in Kristi’s care reached school age, she expected to see them off to school. Instead, their parents began asking if their children could simply stay with her. So they did! Kristi began homeschooling them alongside her own children, and little by little, Dragonfly was born. Outside of Dragonfly, Kristi loves gardening and even became a Master Gardener. She loves good food, going out to eat, and traveling whenever she gets the chance. She’s always ready to experience somewhere new, try a great restaurant, or jump into another project. More than anything, Kristi wants Dragonfly to be a place where children know they matter. Ten years from now, she doesn’t expect them to remember every lesson or assignment. She hopes they remember how they felt while they were there—a place where they felt safe, loved, and seen.

Alyssa - Science / Pre K

Alyssa teaches our youngest group and doubles as our science teacher. She studied Early Childhood Education at BYU and has been teaching preschool and kindergarten in various settings for the last 10 years. Her and her husband have 4 young kiddos that keep them very busy! In her spare time, Alyssa loves doing High Fitness, watching Survivor, playing card games, and reading a good psychological thriller. Making and receiving food is her love language. Alyssa loves to bring energy and excitement to her classes at Dragonfly. You can bet if we’re doing anything involving paint or glitter, Miss Alyssa was the one who planned it!

Ariana - Reading

Ariana brings a love of teaching and helping children grow to Dragonfly Homeschool. She previously worked as a special education teaching assistant and coach in her hometown of Delano, California, and earned an associate degree in communications from Bakersfield College.

Ariana has lived in Sanger for six years. She and her husband, Jared, have been married for 13 years and are raising four boys. She is excited to be part of the Dragonfly community and to support each student as they learn and grow.

Katie - Social Studies

Katie was born in Fresno and grew up living in three states and more than 25 homes. Through all those moves, Fresno remained close to her heart, and she eventually chose to make it her permanent home. It is also where she met her husband, Jason. They will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary this June and have six children who keep their lives busy and full of joy.

Katie enjoys gardening, fishing, painting rocks, and serving others. Her favorite subjects in school were history and the study of the human body.
